COMMUNITY HOME PROJECT

The Marion County Hospital District has partnered with Marion County Public Schools to offer free services at Howard Academy located at 306 NW 7 Ave. Building 3, Ocala, FL 34475. The Community Home Project assists families with employment, educational tutoring and continuing education, healthcare navigation and dental clinics, fitness and nutrition classes (diabetes education, grocery orders) and much more.

ESTELLA BYRD WHITMAN COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER

Our mission is to build a community where every person has access to compassionate quality healthcare, wellness education, and the resources to live a healthier life. Services offered include : comprehensive primary care, annual health exams, well child visits, school and sports physicals, Women’s health services and family planning, vaccinations (adults and children), chronic care management and preventative care screenings. 

CASA MARION

CASA understands the bravery it takes to disclose abuse. CASA works with the community to build a network of support for survivors of domestic violence and their children.

NURSE-FAMILY PARTNERSHIP @ BEACON POINT

Free and Voluntary Nurse Home Visiting Program for pregnant mothers with substance use disorder and their children up to 2 years old. Nurse education, Breastfeeding Support, Developmental screenings, Materials and resources for new parents from specially trained Registered Nurses.

MY LIFE COUNSEL

We offer Individual, Marriage, and Family (children and teens) Counseling Services. Our goal is to enhance lives by providing holistic counseling services to individuals, couples, marriages, and families. We combine professional expertise, evidence-based research, and the guiding principles of biblical wisdom while emphasizing empathetic pastoral care.

AL-ANON FAMILY GROUPS

Al_Anon and Alateen carry the message of hope to those who feel helpless, lost and lonely due to the effects of someone’s alcoholism. The groups meet to give experience, strength and hope to newcomers by sharing their own experience and
understanding of themselves and the alcoholic. Al-Anon believes that benefits are gained by the willingness to share them with others.

CHILDREN’S HOME SOCIETY HEALTHY FAMILIES

Health Families is a free, voluntary support program for expecting parents. As a participant, a Family Support Specialist will visit you in your home to offer support in parenting and encourage you in achieving your life goals. We offer the program to families living in Marion County who are expecting a baby or have a newborn under the age of three months. Once enrolled you can stay in the program for five years.

EARLY LEARNING COALITION OF MARION COUNTY

The Early Learning Coalition of Marion County supports families through access to quality early learning programs that nurture children’s learning potential while preparing them for educational success. Our FREE services include Child Care Resource and Referral, School Readiness childcare financial assistance for eligible families, Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK), children’s developmental and behavioral screenings, parenting workshops, emergency family resources, and more.

BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF MARION COUNTY

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Marion County creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Our promise is to empower every young person on the path to graduate high school with a plan for their future and a mentor whose impact will last a lifetime.

STRONG FAMILIES

Gain Financial Stability Through Strong Families!

Strong Families Powered by United Way of Marion County is a program focused on helping families develop financial stability and ending generational poverty through education, skill, and career development.

This initiative connects 80-90 adults and children to personal success coaches each year, helping to address homelessness, increase income, and decrease debt. Success coaches work with the families for an entire year in bi-weekly sessions.

MARION COUNTY CHILDREN’S ALLIANCE (MCCA)

OUR MISSION
Our mission is to improve the lives of Marion County Children.

THE ALLIANCE PROVIDES
Communication, collaboration and coordination among agencies and individuals who work with children and youth. A voice for children with local and state government representatives and agencies. Assistance to parents and youth to help secure needed resources and services.

FAMILY VIOLENCE PREVENTION WORKGROUP (MCCA)

We assist families affected by domestic violence that are in crisis by coordinating community services and by increasing awareness through presentations and community outreaches.

FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IN MARION COUNTY

The Florida Department of Health in Marion County provides a wide variety of public health services. Popular programs include the Dental Clinic, Healthy Start, WIC (Women, Infants and Children), Family Planning, Immunizations, hepatitis testing and treatment, HIV services, and more. The Department also provides naloxone to the public as part of its ongoing overdose prevention efforts.

HEALTHY START

Healthy Start is a free home visiting program that provides education and care coordination to pregnant women and families of children under the age of three. The goal of the program is to lower risk factors associated with preterm birth, low birth weight, infant mortality and poor developmental outcomes.

Healthy Start offers:

• Home Visiting
• Prenatal and Parenting Education
• Interconception Education including Reproductive Life Planning
• Stress Management Education
• Care Coordination to help families learn about resources available in the community and assistance in accessing those services

HOPE OUTREACH HELP CENTER

Social service agency, helping with food, clothing, diapers, pet food and most other needs. Referrals also done to other local agencies for housing and rent and electric. Open Mondays only 1-4pm.

LANGLEY HEALTH SERVICES

Langley Health Services (LHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with seven sites for your convenience, located throughout Sumter, Marion, and Citrus Counties. As a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, LHS offers comprehensive primary healthcare services to patients regardless of their income level. Translation services are also available. Langley Health Services is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare, and has received the Patient Centered Medical Home designation.

MARION THERAPEUTIC RIDING ASSOCIATION

Marion Therapeutic Riding Association’s mission is to provide the miraculous benefits of therapeutic horseback riding and equine assisted learning activities to children and adults living with physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges daily. Active programs include Traditional Therapeutic Riding for children and adults with a disability, Equine Experience for at-risk youth and foster children, and Freedom Reins for Veterans.

MARION MIECHV

Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) is a voluntary program that uses the evidence-based model Parents as Teachers (PAT) to serve families with newborns and young children. The goals of MIECHV/Parents as Teachers are to provide parents with child development knowledge and parenting support, provide early detection of developmental delays and health issues, prevent child abuse and neglect, and increase children’s school readiness.

SEDNET

The Multiagency Network for Students with Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities (SEDNET) creates and facilitates a network of key stakeholders committed to assisting in the provision of a quality system of care for students with or at-risk of emotional and/or behavioral challenges.

SUPPORTING KIDS, INVOLVING PARENTS (SKIP)

Our mission is to support at-promise youth by offering mentoring and tutoring services that encourage youth to achieve their goals while teaching accountability and responsibility.

Stirrups ‘n Strides Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc.

To provide therapeutic horseback riding, carriage driving, equine assisted therapy, and Special Olympics to anyone with physical, mental and emotional challenges, and to improve the quality of life for these individuals with the opportunity for emotional, educational, and physical growth through horsemanship, competition, and the healing power of the horse.

THE PEARL PROJECT

We offer support for caregivers of children who have experienced trauma by providing trauma-Informed trainings, support groups, camps and retreats. We also run a closet for foster/adoptive parents and train cuddlers for substance-exposed newborns at Advent Health’s NICU.

CATS, Inc

CATS (Comprehensive Addiction Treatment Services) offers care through individual, groups, family and couples sessions An outpatient program for substance use disorder, codependency , trauma and anger management since 1989. In a loving and safe home environment.

Established in 2003; Total Family Solutions provides high quality mental health and behavioral services. We offer outpatient services as well as telehealth services for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and their families who reside in Florida. Services are individually developed to meet the unique needs of each situation. Therapy is short term and solution focused, utilizing a strength-based approach.
