PICKING UP THE PIECES

We are a mobile outreach service that meets individuals where they are at in their recovery journey, including active addiction. We believe that advocation works and allows people to open up without feeling outlasted or judged as building relationships is vital in leading folks to recovery. Our founder, Michelle Pepin is a certified Peer Support specialist and recovery coach. She started this mission after overcoming her own addiction, followed by losing her son to fentanyl poisoning. Our purpose reaches those struggling with SUD, those seeking help, those who are homeless, as well as the LGBTQ community and youth by providing linkage to applicable resources.

OneWorks is an umbrella harm reduction service which is operated by us at Picking Up the Pieces. We offer wound care, Narcan distribution, HIVST (HIV self-testing), SSP (Safe Syringe Program), fentanyl testing, sex worker and human trafficking advocacy. We are one of many grassroots organizations throughout the country with the same goals of self preservation and care until the individual is ready to make a leap into recovery. What we do is more than an exchange, we value people for who they are-human beings. Harm reductionists focus on bodily autonomy, minimizing common blood borne diseases and bacterial infections such as Hep-B & C, HIV, abscesses, MRSA, and staphylococcal infections. Most importantly, giving hope to the hopeless. It’s amazing what impact that genuinely caring has.

SOBER ESCORTS, INC.

Sober Escorts provides individualized support services to those in recovery from addictions and/or mental health issues. We offer full time live in Recovery Companion services, Recovery and Life Coaching, Intervention Services, Case Management, Treatment referral and consultation and safe passage transportation to and from treatment around the globe.

SUWANNEE RIVER AREA HEALTH EDUCATION CENTER (AHEC)

Suwannee River AHEC provides free tobacco cessation group quit services for adults. Group provides each client with support and up to 4 weeks of free nicotine (patches, gum, lozenges while supplies last and when medically appropriate).

The FRoM Project sends free handmade personalized cards to parents all over the world. We offer resources for parents to help Stop The Stigma associated with the Opioid Epidemic.
