Heat Illness Prevention
Heat-related illnesses can range from mild heat cramps to life-threatening heat stroke. Warning signs may include heavy sweating, muscle cramps, weakness, dizziness, nausea, headache, rapid heartbeat, confusion, or loss of consciousness. To reduce your risk, limit outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day, wear lightweight clothing, stay hydrated, take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas, and seek immediate medical attention if symptoms of heat stroke occur.
